So I thought it was about time I had a little go at using masks in LrC, having no real idea of what it would do.

I picked a macro shot I had taken in the garden and wanted to isolate the flower head. I played around with vignettes, dropping the shadows, all sorts then figured it was time to look at whether masks would work.

Well, lo and behold, one isolated flower head 🙂

Shot on a Canon EOS 850D using an 18-55mm lens f5.6 ISO 1600.

I also like how the focus fades away at the edges which seems to be exaggerated by the dark mask on the background.
